Program Description
Philology is the study of language in written historical sources; it is a combination of literary studies, history and linguistics. Successful philological education means successful communication between people, countries, cultures, linguistics. Accordingly, it is important to have not only good self-expression, but also transfer a culture codes correctly into another ones in written way. In correspondence with current demands it is essential to have specialists in philology, because there have been numerous reforms in last decades. 
Aim of the program is to provide students with contemporary knowledge and prepare qualified specialists in philology sphere; as program is delivered in Turkish, students will develop native-like level of verbal skill in Turkish.
During the program students will be able to formulate and obtain obligatory standards established for rewarding the master degree in Turkish Philology. The candidate will obtain the ability of argumentation and express own opinion on the corresponding topic depending on personally conducted research work, they will have ability and analytical skills to contribute to formation of new approach in related field, obtain and use philological terminology for material presentation and analysis. 
Also, Master Candidates will gain ability of writing a research paper (thesis) in the field of Philology and to plan scientific research works, besides to criticize fulfilled scientific work depending on obtained theories in corresponding field.

The qualified Professors are invited from Turkey in order to deliver the lecturers to master students.
The Graduates of Turkish Philology Program will get the Diploma Equivalency recognized by the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) of Turkey.  
Student’s exchange: According to agreements with IBSU partner universities students have an opportunity to participate in various international exchange programs.
Employability skills
To raise highly skilled philologist, which will be corresponded to contemporary demands in public and privet   spheres. They should be able to work in schools, newspapers, archives.
Career Opportunities
Graduates from current program can be occupied in a wide range of places like schools, universities, archives, cultural departments, newspapers, private and governmental research institutions focusing on Turkish literature, language… 
MA Program in TPH also provides good basis for further scholarly studies at Ph.D program at IBSU and equally programs.
Admission to the Program 
A person is admitted to the programme if
  • He/she holds a BA or its equivalent diploma in Turkish Philology, Turkology, Turkish Studies, Modern Turkic Dialects and Literature, School mastering program with the concentration with Turkish language and literature, Direction of the Teaching of Turkish language, the Teaching of Social Studies;
  • Passes A Type test of  Unified National Exams for Masters (for Georgian citizens);
  • Passes the university internal exams in specialty and Turkish language corresponding B2 level;
    • Those candidates who have graduated from educational program (instruction language –Turkish language) during last three years and their GPA is at least 75 (out of 100) or 3 (out of 4), are free from passing Turkish language examination.

Tuition fee for Georgian citizens: 3540 GEL
Tuition fee for international students: 3000 USD
